WORLD NUMBER TWO JUSTIN ROSE TO DONATE TO PALU DISASTER

English golfer Justin Rose has announced he will donate US$50,000 to relief efforts in Palu, Indonesia – where an earthquake and tsunami struck with disastrous effect last weekend.

Rose recently confirmed he will return to defend the Indonesian Masters - the Asian Tour’s season-ending event - this December and after seeing the tragedy unfold in Palu he quickly felt the need to provide support.

Justin will donate through Habitat for Humanity, the Tour’s Official Charity.

“It (Palu) was all over the news and I felt the need to do something to help those affected,” said Rose.

“My heart goes out to all the families of the victims at this incredibly difficult time. I wish everyone there the best of luck as they try to recover and rebuild.”

Justin triumphed at the US Open in 2013, won Olympic gold in 2016 and this year claimed the FedExCup on the PGA Tour. Most recently, Justin continued his role as a pivotal member of the European Ryder Cup Team, helping lead them to victory in Paris.

Said Jimmy Masrin, Founder of the Indonesian Masters and Chairman of the Asian Tour: “Justin was a true gentleman at last year’s Indonesian Masters and has truly shown his compassion by donating to the Palu disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Palu.”

The Indonesian Masters will be played at Royale Jakarta Golf Club from December 13to 16.
